33 KOTI DEVI DEVTA
33 koti devi devta exist in sanatan dharma ,reality should be check. But is this true? What do our religious books say about it? People are confused about the topic of 33 crores of devi devta.
WHY ARE THERE 33 KOTI OF DEVTA?
1 . It is said that our universe is infinite.
2 . There are 14 lok such as :-
Satya lok, Tapa lok ,Jana lok ,Mahar lok ,Svarg lok ,Bhuvar lok ,Bhu lok ,Atal lok ,Vital lok ,Sutal lok ,Talatal lok ,Mahatal lok ,Rasatal lok ,Patal lok
For looking after all these lok ,there should be crores of devi devta.
3 . It makes it easy to keep them all in a systematic way.
4 . Most of the people even claim that 33 crores of devi devta are less, it should be more in numbers.
THE RELIGIOUS TEXT BOOKS WHICH CLAIMS THERE ARE 33 CRORES OF DEVI DEVTA ARE:-
1 . Vishnu puran ( Adhyaya 2: mantra 7)
2 . Maheshwar khanda of Skanda Purana (Adhyay 6: mantra 7)
3 . Kashi khanda of Skanda Purana
4 . Bhagwat puran
5 . Brihadaranyak Upanishads etc.
COUNTER QUESTIONS
1 . Maybe there are crores of devi devta but the creator is only one that is supreme Ishwar.
If the infinite universe is created by only one Ishwar then this infinite universe can be also cared for by only one Ishwar. Why are there crores of devi devta?
2 . Because of so many gods it creates a sense of inferiority .
3 . It is difficult to focus on one God
4 . It is really very difficult to answer the today’s generation because of lack and adulteration of evidences
5 . 33 crores mentioned in many purans and the purans are new. Most of the purans are written in the era of Mughals and Britishers.
6 . If there are 33 crores of devi devta then why are there 33 types of gods that are 12 Adityas, 11 Rudra, 8 Vasu and 2 Ashwini. Then the concept of types of gods becomes automatically wrong.
7 . It makes it complex and difficult to understand the concept of Sanatan.
8 . It creates tension and fight about the superiority of the gods. We start judging our gods that he is superior and others are inferior.
Example – Iscon considers Sri krishn is supreme and Shiva is inferior. They underestimate even the Sri Krishn incarnation of Vishnu and start debate on it.
WHAT IS THE REAL MEANING OF 33 KOTI DEVI DEVTA ?
There are different meanings of “ Koti “ in Sanskrit such as
1 . Koti meaning uchhatam/ pradhan
2 . Koti meaning crores
3 . Koti meaning sharp and pointed part of bow or any weapons
4 . Meaning of koti half moon

KULDEVI AND KULDEVTA
EVIDENCES IN TEMPLES ABOUT THE 33 KOTI DEVI DEVTA
1 . There are many temples in Bharat where many statues of Dev and Devis are depicted on the walls of Temples.
Example – There are about 120 small temples dedicated to different devtas in the premises of Jagannath temple.
The walls have statues of so many gods.
2 . There are many temples of kuldevi and kuldevta of different castes and villages.
3 . Each shaktipeeth is guarded by Bhadra roop of shiva are also dev
4 . Prithvi, vayu, varuna, surya ,Agni etc are also dev and these are also called as
“ Panchmahabhut”.
5 . Indra, Shani, yamraj, brihaspati , Kamdhenu, mrityu etc all are dev and devi.
6 . All the dead persons are also called “ Pitra Dev”.
Sanskrit is a little difficult to understand. Why can’t koti be gods’ types “.
Maybe Sanskrit is saying that there are 33 types of God. That are
12 Adityas
Indra , Aryaman, Tvashtr, Varun, Bhaga, savitr, vivasvat, Amsha, Mitra, Pushan Daksha, Vishnu.
11 Rudra
Praan , Apaan, Udan, vyaan ,Samman, Naag, Kurma, Dhanajay, Krikal, Devdutt, Jeevaatma
8 vasu
Water, Fire, Air, Ether, Moon, Sun, and Star.
2 Ashwini
WHO IS VISHNU AND SHIVA AND DURGA?
These are considered to be the Ishwar. They become one and form into Aum. They are divided into different names and forms such as Shiva, Vishnu and Durga.
They are known by different names such as Kali, parwati, Jagdamba , Lakshmi, Saraswati etc Here the supreme Ishwar is present in the female form.
Sri Ram , sri krishn, Shiva , Hanuman , Ganesha etc Here they are present in Male form.
But when this male and female form combines form Aum. We can say that the Nirakar form is Aum.
CONCLUSIONS/ MY OPINION
I neither believe in 33 crores of devta and nor of 33 koti devi devta’
I believe in only one Devadidev Mahadev Sadashiv Shankar. It helps me to attach and find inside me. It helps to focus and concentrate.
It is easy to answer and feel more stronger and understanding. There is no need of wandering other gods and goddesses.
Because we humans make our gods and Ishwar superior and inferior.
Ishwar is inside us. Only awakening is needed.
